Heir To Albanian Throne Threatens Macedonia, Greece

Albanians in Macedonia and Greece jeopardized, says Leka Zogu

"The lives of Albanians in Macedonia have been put in jeopardy, and Albanians are also in jeopardy in Cemeria in Greece," said Leka Zogu, the heir apparent of the Albanian throne and the only son of the king Ahmet Zogu who was forced into exile.

At a ceremony in Elbasan, marking the foundation of his Movement for National Development, Leka Zogu stressed that the lives of Albanians in Macedonia will be in jeopardy unless a timely action is launched. The Albanians' interests should be above all, and the Albanians should not cave in to the influence of pseudo-nationalists. [I.e., Macedonians and Greeks]

He added that Albanians in Greece are also put at risk, adding that Tirana should activate itself over Cemeria issue and do much more about the rights and the status of Albanians living there.

Leka Zogu criticized the government for the severe economic crisis that the country is undergoing and cautioned against Greece's economic presence in Albania and purchase of Albanian companies.

"Albanian economy is so fragile that it could easily become a possession of Greece," Leka Zogu said.

Leka Zogu had returned to Albania several years ago. He was banished from the Republic of South Africa due to weapons smuggling charges.
